Belarus has the only sculpture in the world dedicated to condensed milk! It was established on November 23, 2013 in honor of the 75th anniversary of Rogachev milk canning plant.
Today, Rogachev milk canning plant is the largest enterprise producing canned milk, baby food, whole-milk products, cheeses and dry dairy products in the CIS. The plant produces more than 80 types of products that are widely known not only in the Republic of Belarus, but also abroad. This plant Is a guarantee of quality and taste!
This 4-meter-high condensed milk sculpture is made in the antique technique of colored glass mosaic. It is an exact copy of a white-and-blue can of condensed milk. The author of the work is sculptor of monuments, employee of the Belarusian state Academy of arts Gleb Otchik, who won a sketch contest. "Mosaic in glass is the first of its kind in Belarus; this technique has never been used in the exterior before that. The whole sculpture is handmade, each piece of glass was cut and selected manually, so creating a sculpture was a very time-consuming process," - Gleb Otchik says.
An interesting fact is that at the base of this monument there is a capsule for descendants, which was bequeathed to be opened for the 100th anniversary of the plant (i.e. in 2038). We will all look forward to this moment and hope that this plant will only strengthen its already leading position in the market.
