Belarusian-Jewish Festival held in Minsk

From October 5 to 11, 2020, Minsk hosted the Belarusian-Jewish festival dedicated to Jewish culture, its history in Belarus and the relationship between the two cultures.

The festival was initiated and organized by the Belarusian-Jewish Cultural Heritage Center. The festival was held as part of the partnership project with the Goethe-Institut in Belarus "Laboratory of Jewish cultural heritage in Belarus" with the support of the German Foreign Ministry under the "Eastern Partnership" program.

This year's festival program included the premiere of a music podcast dedicated to the mutual influence of Jewish and Belarusian melodies; the premiere of an audio guide about Jewish Minsk; a BBC documentary about Jewish migrants from Eastern Europe, and many more. The greatest attention was paid to the premiere of Olga Prusak' play – the first stage performance in Belarus about an outstanding Belarusian-Jewish poet Moishe Kulbak.

The festival is planned to be held annually.
