Belavezhskaya Pushcha is one of the 11 places in the country where moonshine production is legal. Therefore, it is not called "moonshine", but has a fancier name – "pushchansky drink". As soon as you are there, look for moonshine goddess (mundanely known as – culturologist) Svetlana Kobylkina. She talks about this local product so, that your mouth waters even if you are a nondrinker or a health nut. You can also clarify the recipe with her. But, as the locals say, the same drink cannot be prepared at home – the secret of the moonshine lies in the special clean water from the Pushcha spring 36 meters deep.
Here, as hundreds of years ago, they make rosehip, viburnum, and balsam infusions. And, of course, they make iconic "Zubrovka" – a bitter herbal infusion. Remember, there used to be the bottles in the shape of a bison? Well, this is it. Foreign tourists, they say, sell their souls for them.
